“My time at Airborne Environmental Consultants (AEC) has been an important step in my development as an SEO and digital marketing professional. As an SEO & Organic Growth Specialist, I have worked on real business challenges, taken ownership of optimisation projects and contributed to measurable improvements in organic visibility, website traffic, lead generation and service enquiries.
Beyond the professional experience, what made AEC particularly special was the people. From day one, I was welcomed into a supportive, knowledgeable and collaborative team that always encouraged learning and development. The culture at AEC made me feel valued and trusted, and I will always be grateful for the experience and relationships I built during my time here.”
Key Achievements at AEC
Before joining AEC, I completed an MSc in Digital Marketing Communications at Manchester Metropolitan University, where I developed a strong foundation in SEO, digital strategy, analytics and content marketing. Alongside my studies, I worked on industry projects involving website analysis, technical SEO audits and digital performance reporting. Prior to moving to the UK, I also gained over two years of experience supporting SEO and digital marketing activities for an e-commerce business, helping to improve website visibility and organic traffic through search engine optimisation and content improvements.
Before joining AEC, I was studying for an MSc in Digital Marketing Communications at Manchester Metropolitan University. As part of a module called Organic and Paid Digital Practice, we were tasked with selecting a business and developing an SEO optimisation project. I chose AEC and focused on improving the visibility of its Face Fit Test page through keyword research, content optimisation and SEO recommendations.
The project achieved a distinction grade, and I was among the top-performing students in the module. Following this, my tutor, David Edmundson-Bird, recommended me to AEC for an SEO Specialist opportunity. Having already researched the company and worked on one of its webpages, I was excited by the opportunity to apply my SEO knowledge in a real business environment and contribute to AEC’s organic growth strategy.
My role focuses on SEO and organic growth across AEC’s website. I am involved in the full SEO process, from research and strategy through to implementation and performance analysis.
My work includes keyword research, digital target audience research, search intent analysis, competitor analysis, on-page SEO, off-page SEO, technical SEO and local SEO. I create and optimise content within WordPress, improve internal linking structures, optimise metadata and implement SEO recommendations directly across the website.
To measure performance and identify opportunities, I regularly use tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush and Screaming Frog. This allows me to monitor rankings, traffic, user behaviour, conversions and lead generation while continually improving the website’s organic visibility and performance.

What I enjoy most is the combination of creativity, problem-solving and data analysis. SEO is constantly evolving, which means there is always something new to learn and test. I enjoy identifying opportunities, implementing improvements and then measuring the impact through real performance data. Seeing changes in rankings, traffic and conversions as a result of optimisation work is incredibly rewarding because it demonstrates a clear connection between strategy and business outcomes.
AEC stands out to me because it gave me the opportunity to work on real SEO projects and make a measurable impact from the start. Rather than simply observing, I was trusted to take ownership of research, optimisation and implementation activities across the website.
I particularly valued the freedom to develop and test my own ideas, whether through keyword research, content optimisation, technical SEO improvements or organic growth initiatives. This allowed me to see how SEO strategies translate into real business outcomes, including improvements in rankings, traffic, enquiries and service purchases.
The team has also been incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. Working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment has helped me develop both my technical SEO skills and my confidence as a digital marketing professional. For me, AEC combines expertise, innovation and a genuine commitment to helping people grow, which is what makes it stand out.
Be proactive, ask questions and take ownership of your work. AEC offers genuine opportunities to contribute to real projects, so the more initiative you show, the more you will learn. It is an excellent environment for both professional and personal development.
I want to continue building a career in SEO and digital marketing, specialising in organic growth, technical SEO and emerging search technologies. I am particularly interested in the growing influence of AI on search and digital discovery. My goal is to help organisations improve their visibility and business performance through data-driven strategies.
One of my proudest achievements was identifying and optimising a search opportunity related to asbestos testing in play sand. Through keyword research, content optimisation, internal linking improvements and search intent analysis, the page grew from 436 to over 52,000 impressions and from 27 to more than 2,700 clicks.
Alongside this growth, the page contributed to an increase in related service purchases from 5 to 40, demonstrating the commercial impact of aligning SEO strategy with user intent. It was particularly rewarding to see how SEO and content optimisation could directly influence both website performance and business outcomes.
I also worked on optimising AEC’s Workplace Exposure Monitoring service page, increasing impressions from 438 to 2,560 and improving the average ranking position from 41.2 to 14.5. The page now ranks among the top Google results for the key search term “workplace exposure monitoring”.
I have strengthened my skills in technical SEO, keyword research, content optimisation, search intent analysis and digital analytics. I also gained hands-on experience with WordPress, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush and Screaming Frog.
Beyond technical skills, I developed stronger communication, project management and problem-solving abilities through working on live commercial projects and collaborating with different teams across the business.
My biggest learning experience was understanding how SEO contributes to real business outcomes. AEC helped me bridge the gap between academic knowledge and commercial application by focusing on user behaviour, business objectives and measurable results.
AEC has given me practical experience working on live websites, real SEO challenges and measurable growth projects. It has strengthened both my technical skills and confidence, providing a strong foundation for the next stage of my career in SEO and digital marketing.
” Throughout his time at AEC, Amid demonstrated strong SEO knowledge, analytical thinking and a proactive approach to learning. He took ownership of optimisation projects and contributed to measurable improvements in organic visibility, website performance and service enquiries, while consistently applying a data-driven approach to his work.
Amid was a valued member of the team whose professionalism, attention to detail and willingness to take initiative made a positive impact. We wish him every success in his future career in SEO and digital marketing.”
