If you have concerns about the presence of asbestos fibres in your play sand/coloured craft sand, you can send a sample to us for testing. Its costs £40 (+VAT) per sample and our accredited UKAS lab can send you reliable results in 3-5 days.

Send your samples to us safely

Asbestos testing involves taking a small sample of material for analysis to identify the presence of asbestos. Samples are analysed at AEC’s own laboratories. Our advanced technologies, UKAS accredited processes and bespoke reporting systems ensure your results are accurate, reliable, and delivered on time.  It should be noted that sand is a complex material to analyse, and we only offer a 3-5day results turnaround for this.

How to send your play sand sample to us:

• For Play Sand we require a table spoon size quantity
• Double bag your sample in clear sealable bags 
• Include your name and address in the envelope
• Use the form below to book and pay online
• Post or drop your sample off at our lab!
