AEC is an employee-owned compliance consultancy and training organisation for the safe management of asbestos, water, fire and occupational hygiene in the built environment.
We began our journey in 1997, when founders Mandy Reid and Bob Harris started their own asbestos surveying consultancy. As their reputation for quality and client-focus grew, so did AEC.
AEC now has 2 main offices, in Manchester and Essex, that serves clients both in the UK and overseas. We have evolved in size and services offered, bringing in the additional expertise of water compliance, occupational hygiene, fire safety services, face fit testing; and room hire coming soon. Today we remain one of the largest leading providers of vocational training services in the UK.
In 2024 we made the exciting transition into an Employee Ownership Trust, for the benefit of all current and future employees. The new AEC Trust model means that employees of AEC benefit from a significant stake in the company, allowing them to be more involved, informed and committed to the company and share in its success. It means that employees are given a ‘voice’ and company’s legacy, and core values are entrusted to those people at the heart of the business.
