Asbestos testing involves taking a small sample of material for analysis to identify the presence of asbestos. Samples are analysed at AEC’s own laboratories. Our advanced technologies, UKAS accredited processes and bespoke reporting systems ensure your results are accurate, reliable, and delivered on time. We offer 24hr sample drop-off and a same-day results for clients in a hurry.
- Double bag your sample in clear sealable bags (remember to label the outer bag with the location the sample has been taken from).

(Water Absorption Test)
If you have found suspect cement/board type materials and require a test to identify if the material is licensed or non-licensed, we can carry out water absorption testing (formerly known as density measurement) at our laboratories. We offer a turnaround of 48hrs or 5-7 days for this service. Please note: We require a minimum sample size of 10cm x 10cm to accurately determine the material classification.
We do not need a large quantity of the suspected material. Simply place a small ( thumbnail size) sample into a clear sealable bag. Place this bag into another outer bag and label the with the location within the property you have taken the sample from (eg. bathroom floor, lounge ceiling etc..).

Yes. We have a dedicated Drop off Box , located at the entrance of both our Essex and Manchester laboratories, for you to leave your samples out-of -hours. Your samples are collected by us at 8.30am each working day and processed according to the service level you have chosen. Remember to call our lab to make payment as we cannot process your order prior to payment being made.

Yes. If you need to determine whether a product is licensed or non-licensed, you can bring a sample of the material to our laboratory for analysis Monday to Friday, between 9am-5pm. Please note: We require a minimum sample size of 10cm x 10cm to accurately determine the material classification. You can choose of 48hrs or 5-7 days for this service.
